6th International Digital Storytelling Conference & Exhibition

By Marty Henry

We are very excited to be attending the 6th International Digital Storytelling conference at Smith College in Massachusetts later this month to present a paper. Our session will focus on Aileen's "Story of Change" which was told during the History in our Hands project at The Grange.

The exhibition runs from 25-27th September and is being hosted by Smith College and the Five Campus Consortium (Smith College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Amherst College).

This will be the first time the International Conference will be held in the Western Hemisphere, bringing together an amazing gathering of digitalstorytelling professionals, academics, youth and activists.  The conference will host various events in its structure for inclusion of diverse perspectives and voices.  The conference will be focussing on a principal theme of Youth and Activism.

The conference will also explore a number of additional themes including the use of Digital Storytelling in public health, curriculum, intercultural and international education, service learning, sustainability and the environment, heritage and memory, participation and social inclusion, as well as new and innovative forms of participatory media.
