Willing To Work

By Tony

Hello I'm Tony Nielson, I work for the Environment Agency but I worked for the Skill Mill five months ago. Well I got out of jail and I was on licence so I come down the YOT twice a week and see my YOT worker fill out some sheets try to keep me out of trouble while I'm out. Well Sean come and I was speaking to Sean for a bit about the Skill Mill and I said I was interested and obviously Sean gave me that massive chance to prove that I'm not a criminal and I can work and I'm willing to work and get up every morning and do stuff for the environment, obviously what I like to do and what I'm doing at the minute.  Well I had an interview with the Environment Agency and obviously I got on with Ian straightaway, had a good meeting and two weeks later I found out that I'd got the job so I was really pleased about that. I'm still working for the EA, I've been here five and a half months and I'm still working with the EA now, I’m enjoying it, I love the sites of Northumberland, deal with all kinds of stuff, flooding, it could be fence work, could even be doing the grids, just to make sure people’s property don't flood when we get bad weather and I'm enjoying it, it's going well.
