Roots and Visions
Memories of Chillingham Road School, which has been at the heart of its community for 120 years, were recorded by people of all ages from the local community.
Joe recalls his first day at the school in 1939 and talks about revisiting the school in 2014 to find it had changed dramatically.
School friends, teachers and memories of wartime are all recalled in this set of digital stories which were made during workshops at the school itself.
Curiosity Creative worked on the Roots and Visions project with Chillingham Road Sports and Arts Centre and Chillingham Road School. The project was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
