Every object tells a story.

The Story Box is an exciting new project which is recording Newcastle residents’ personal stories inspired by their personal objects. These objects might hold a special meaning for someone, an object that they use everyday, an object that they can't live without, an object handed down through the family, that has survived a journey. It might be something that was given by a loved one or kept to commemorate an important time.

The Story Box, will collect personal stories from people in Newcastle. The stories will be brought together in an online archive and kept for future generations to listen to, capturing a slice of the city’s history.

The stories will then be shared through a public screening programme across the city in a specially converted red telephone box as well as other special screening events.
