Moving Forward

By Jim Bugden

A lot of my life I’ve been kicked down, got back up again, kicked down and got back up again. But with Moving Forward it seems to have straightened out and I got more chance of moving forward than what I was being pushed back all the time. I suffer from anxiety panic attacks.

Well I get up first thing in the morning and I do taekwondo which actually gets your mind thinking to do different things when you don’t want to, like sometimes when I had depression, I used to stay down in depression and not even get up. But now I want to get up and do things rather than stay indoors and it totally changed my life. It makes me feel terrific at the moment because I know I’ve got something to do rather than be stuck in a rut and stuck indoors. Now I’ve got something to do, somewhere to go, people to meet, which are very pleasant. Now I’m beginning to relax more and to let people know my thoughts if you know what I mean. I’ve joined the camera club, I’ve joined karate club which I used to be good at which I thought the children because in a sense I didn’t have enough time to teach the children so from white belt upto green belt, I’ve taught them all the way through that so they know all the different moves and one things and the other, which I thought was a nice way of giving me a boost rather than being stuck. It gives me respect because when I do certain moves I get the sensei come up to me and talk to me about different ways which I should do it and I go back home, practice the moves and one thing and another and I go back in to the dojo and I’m quite happy because I’ve learnt how its supposed to be done. This is a fantastic organisation because they’re interested in you and they want to keep you motivated.
