Not only did the women keep the home fires burning, but they took on Voluntary and paid employment. That showed that women were highly capable in all fields of work.

There is little doubt this expanded the view of the role of women in society and changed the outlook of what women could do, and their place in the workplace.

Although they were still paid less than men pay inequalities were starting to diminish as women were now getting paid two thirds of the pay of men. I feel this was a turning point for women in the workforce.
