In 2014, the millionth runner crossed the finishing line of the Great North Run and we were excited to be a part of the historic GNR Million project. Organised by Great North Run Culture and Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums, GNR Million was a programme of events all about the North East’s sporting and industrial heritage.
Curiosity Creative is working with a diverse range of community groups and individuals to create and collect short personal stories inspired by the Great North Run and the themes of determination, wellbeing, energy, world firsts and industriousness.
The final stories can be seen in Great North Greats, an exhibition which is touring from South Shields to Newcastle’s Discovery Museum.
